How do you create a Wikidata entry for your CEO?
Three conditions must be met: (1) executive has at minimum 2-3 verifiable external sources (press, published book, notable distinction), (2) Wikidata account created (free), (3) entry respects Wikipedia/Wikidata notoriety standards. Creation in 1-3h, community validation in 2-12 weeks.
How do you create a Wikidata entry for your CEO, method-wise?
Wikidata is the structured knowledge base of the Wikimedia Foundation, open since 2012. It's also one of the primary sources of Google's Knowledge Graph, and, by extension, one of the strongest anchoring points for LLMs trying to resolve a « person » or « organisation » entity. Microsoft publicly confirmed (Fabrice Canel) that « Schema markup helps Microsoft's LLMs understand content »; Wikidata plays that structuring role on the entity side, where Schema.org plays it on the page side.
Notability conditions. Wikidata requires every person to have at least one verifiable external reference. A company executive must be able to justify at minimum: an official profile on their company site (role, short bio), a mention in an authoritative press source (L'Echo, Paris Match, Sudinfo in BE for example), or a confirmed public professional profile (LinkedIn). Without these traces, the entry will be deleted within 30 days.
Minimum sheet structure. Five essential properties to fill: instance of (Q5 = human), given name + family name, occupation (manager, founder, etc.), employer or founder of (linked to the organisation's Wikidata if it exists), country of citizenship. Three bonus properties with strong GEO value: described at URL (link to press articles), educated at (Wikidata of universities), sameAs via property statements (LinkedIn, X, ORCID, etc.).
The structural role of sameAs. The sameAs property is what links the Wikidata entity to all its external occurrences: LinkedIn profile, company page, indexed press articles. Through this property, Google Knowledge Graph cross-references, and an LLM resolves the same entity across five different sources. A Wikidata sheet without solid sameAs is an isolated sheet, and thus of little use for LLM citation. Lorenzo Eeman, founder of PROEMA, holds Wikidata sheet Q139504784 linked to five authoritative press articles (L'Echo, Paris Match ×2, Sudinfo, La DH) and his LinkedIn profile.
LLM recognition lead time. On the GEO Rocket portfolio we observe that a fresh Wikidata sheet is recognised by most LLMs within 6 to 12 weeks. ChatGPT and Perplexity are the fastest; Claude is more cautious and often requires cross-source confirmation before citing. The exact mechanism is not publicly documented by OpenAI nor Anthropic, but the effect is empirically reproducible.
Counterintuitive finding. The median delay between creating a Wikidata entry for an executive and that entity surfacing in a ChatGPT/Claude answer is 21 to 45 days per PROEMA tracking on 30 entries created 2025-2026 (including Lorenzo Eeman Q139504784, Viviane Eeman Q139695607). Faster than the median SEO appearance on Google page one. "Wikidata remains underused as a citation accelerator, precisely because it is free and run by volunteers," observes Lorenzo Eeman, founder of PROEMA.
